Morris Township NJ Community Information
Morris Township, New Jersey is a small community consisting of 21,796 people with a median age of 41 years. Located in Morris County, it has a total land area of 15.8 square miles.
Morris Township is known as the "doughnut" of the Morris County because it completely sums up the community of Morristown by having an area five times its area. Way back in the 19th century, trolleys used to be the medium of transportation of Morris Township people. Today, buses and other transportation services are being used as part of the town’s adaptation in today’s modern means of transportation.

BUTTERWORTH FIELD #1, 2 - Proceed west on Sussex Avenue to the Red Oaks gas station on the left corner of the Sussex -Gaston - Lake Road intersection. Turn right at the light onto Lake Road, then turn left onto Stonehenge Road. Proceed on Stonehenge Road to the very end. Butterworth Field will be directly in front of you. Park on local streets, please do not block residential driveways.
CORNINE FIELD - Proceed west on Sussex Avenue, past Kahdena Road and the Streeter Pool complex. Cornine Field is on Sussex Avenue just beyond the pool on the right.
DELPHO FIELD - Delpho Field can be reached by turning onto Harter Road from Mt, Kemble Avenue. About 0.8 of a mile on the left is the Delpho Field, (at the foot of Route 1-287 overpass).
Approaching from James Street, proceed up Harter Road over Route 1-287. Immediately after the overpass, the ball field is located on the right hand side.
FRELINGHUYSEN FIELD - From Morris Avenue or Whippany Road, turn onto Columbia Turnpike proceeding east. Immediately after passing MacKenzie Road on the right, turn into the Twin Oaks Tennis Center driveway. Directly ahead are two ball fields.
FRELINGHUYSEN SCHOOL FIELDS - Proceed west on West Hanover Avenue, past the Fairchild Fire House and Quick Check Market. Several hundred feet after the bridge, you will see Veteran's Field on the left, just before a traffic light at Jane Way. Turn left at traffic light and continue up the driveway and bear to the right at the "One Way" sign. Proceed into the parking lot on the right hand side of the school.
GINTY FIELD - Take South Street east towards Rt. 287, make a left onto Woodland Avenue, Ginty complex is on the right.
GREEN FIELD - Proceed east on Columbia Turnpike past Allied Signal/Honeywell and then turn left at the next signal light onto Park Avenue. Turn left onto Powderhorn Drive, then an immediate right onto Weather Vane Drive. Green Field is located on the left 1 1/2 blocks from Powderhorn Drive.
HILLCREST SCHOOL - From the Washington Street -Mill Street - Hillcrest Avenue intersection at the light (near Burnham Park), turn left up Hillcrest Avenue. The Hillcrest School driveway is on the left just before descending to the bottom of the hill. Upon entering the driveway, keep bearing to the right to the upper playground.
JEAN STREET FIELD - Proceed west on Hanover Avenue, past Fairchild Fire Station and Quick Check Market. At first traffic light, turn left onto Jane Way (Veterans Field will be on your left). Take the first right hand turn after Morris Township Department of Public Works yard, onto Jean Street. Follow Jean Street past apartments and first Morris Day School to end at second Morris Day School. Park in the school parking lot (weekends and after 5:00PM on weekdays). Field is uphill beyond parking lot - follow paved path.
KETCH ROAD FIELD - Proceed west on Sussex Avenue to the Red Oak gas station on the left corner of the Sussex -Gaston - Lake Road intersection. Turn right at the light onto Lake Road and follow Lake Road until the bend in the road. Bear left where the road becomes Ketch Road Follow Ketch, the field is on the left. From West Hanover Avenue make a left at the light at Ketch Road. Field will be on the right.
KIWANIS FIELD - From Speedwell Avenue - turn left at St. Virgil's Church, and proceed west on West Hanover Avenue. Immediately after crossing the cement bridge following the traffic signal, turn left onto Lake Valley Road. Kiwanis Field is located on the left about 500 feet from the intersection.
From Sussex Avenue - proceed West towards the Sussex Avenue School. At the bottom of the hill before the Rabbinical College take a left onto Lake Valley Road. Follow Lake Valley Road until the stop sign, and continue straight until you see Kiwanis Field on the right hand side.
LAKE ROAD FIELD - From Speedwell Avenue - Follow above directions to Kiwanis Field. Continue on Lake Valley Road past Kiwanis Field to the stop sign at the Lake Road intersection. Continue straight through the stop sign, and the Lake Road Field is immediately on the right hand side. From Sussex Avenue - Follow above directions to Kiwanis Field. Right before you approach the stop sign at the Lake Valley Road, Lake Road intersection, the field is on the left hand side.
LA RUE FIELD - Follow the above direction to Kiwanis field from either Speedwell Avenue or Sussex Avenue. Coming from Sussex Avenue, take a left at the stop sign onto Lake Road. Coming from Hanover (Speedwell) Avenue, take a right onto Lake Valley Road, proceed to the stop sign, make a right onto Lake Road. After a first series of houses, look for a dirt driveway through a wooded area on the right which leads directly to the playing field.
MENNEN FIELD - From Speedwell Avenue - take East Hanover Avenue east toward Whippany Road. Turn right at the first intersection after passing the Mennen Company. The field is on the immediate right.
From Whippany Road - proceed west toward Speedwell Avenue. Turn left onto Martin Luther King Avenue at the gas station located on the left corner. The field is on the immediate right.
NORMANDY PARK SCHOOL - From Morris Avenue - follow Morris Avenue onto Columbia Turnpike. Turn right at the next intersection onto Normandy Parkway. About 500 feet from that intersection look for and proceed down a driveway on the left with a sign which reads Normandy Park School. The T-Ball diamond is located on the right of the building.
From Madison Avenue -turn onto Normandy Parkway by Friendly's Restaurant, and look for the driveway on the right shortly after passing a white house with big white columns.
SAUNDERS FIELD - Saunders Field is located at the very end of Rolling Hills Drive. Rolling Hills Drive intersects with Western Avenue near the National Guard Armory.
From Mt Kemble Avenue, take Skyline Drive to the very end and turn left onto Rolling Hill Drive.
TUCKER FIELD - Take East Hanover Avenue towards Morris Plains. Make a left at light at Martin Luther King Avenue, make a left turn onto Monroe Street, follow down to Collinsville Playground on left and Tucker Field is just beyond the playground.
VETERAN'S FIELD - Proceed west on West Hanover Avenue, past the Fairchild Fire House and Quick Check Market. Several hundred feet after the bridge, you will see Veteran's Field on the left, just before a traffic light. Park in the driveway to the Frelinghuysen School, immediately beyond the field.
WOODLAND FIELDS #1, 2 - The Woodland Fields are on the grounds of Woodland School. Teams playing on Woodland Fields #1 and #2 should park in the parking lot next to the school. Due to the many evening uses of the Municiapl Building athletic program parking for the Woodland Fields is not permitted in the Municipal Parking lot. From Madison Avenue, turn onto Turtle Road (At the intersection with the signal light, just east of Morristown Memorial Hospital). From Turtle Road, turn onto Johnston Drive. Woodland Field #2 is located at the end of Johnston Drive. Woodland Field #1 is closest to Woodland Avenue.
